Première Urgence Internationale is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organisation. Our teams are committed to supporting civilian victims of marginalisation and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. The association leads in average 180 projects per year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, water, sanitation, hygiene and economic recovery. Première Urgence Internationale is providing assistance to around 4 million people in 21 countries – in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and France.
PUI in Iraq:
PUI has been working in Iraq since 1983 implementing emergency and recovery projects aiming at improving the access to health, to water and sanitation, livelihoods, in urban and rural areas. In 2013 in KRI, PUI launched activities targeting Syrian refugees with the deployment of WaSH and Health responses in refugee camps. More recently, PUI started deploying a multi-sector emergency response in Health, Food Security, Shelter/NFI and WaSH both in KRI and in central Iraq.
