Position title: Community Mobilizer
Reports to: Protection Officer
The Community Mobilizers for the Women’s Centres will be responsible for ensuring community understanding of programmes held at women’s centers, especially focusing on outreach to men and boys in the community, and potential beneficiaries of the center. Community Mobilizers will be responsible for understanding all programmes run at the center and be effective communicators on how to explain the activities of and benefits of having the center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Create connections with community members, including men, boys, women, and girls, to create understanding and acceptance of the programme.
2 Conduct outreach activities with small groups of men and boys in the community to raise awareness regarding GBV prevention and response
3 Conduct Household Visits and disseminate key protection messaging as approved by the Protection Cluster.
4 Make referrals as necessary to specialized service providers, including, but not limited to the Women’s Centres run by Human Appeal, Human Appeal’s legal protection team, and Human Appeal’s Mobile Protection Team
5 Ensure beneficiary confidentiality and dignity by ensuring all referrals are maintained in a secure and confidential manner
6 Develop appropriate mass information dissemination materials as needed
7 Any other reasonable duties, as assigned by the Women’s Protection Team Officer

1 Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Social Work or Humanities
2 Preferable 1 year of experience in the NGO field
3 Understanding of confidentiality and other key relevant humanitarian principles
4 Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and prioritize work to deadlines.
5 Understanding of the gender-specific dynamics and protection issues of the Iraq conflict and IDP displacements.
6 Well-developed organizational skills.
7 Punctuality and respect for rules and procedures.
8 Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
9 Able to work independently, with minimal supervision and under pressure.
10 Fluency in Arabic
