Description

Position: Community Mobilizer - Education
Reports to: Education Specialist
Coordinate with: Education Facilitators
Duty station: Shirqat

Main responsibilities:

• Community Mobilization for Education: reaching students and families for home schooling and out of school children in the targeted areas
• Assist in the implementation of formal and non-formal education activities under the direction of the Education Specialist
• Actively support the education incentive staff (lecturers) in the field through in-person communication or through other channels (i.e. WhatsApp, FCC, etc.)
• In line with the project objectives and COOPI quality standards, ensuring on time attendance of the facilitators
• Ensure and accurately data collection (including kobo), documentation (soft/hardcopies), monitoring and reporting to the Education Specialists at the field level
• Support the education specialists during the participation in PTAs and community-level meetings
• Strengthening networks at local level to gather information from the field, including from local communities and community leaders
• Keeping the community updated about the project's activities and goals and engage them to participate to the awareness sessions
• Organize the logistics of the activities in the schools and out of schools such as trainings, distributions, interviews in the community
• Work with the communities to promote the participation of the students and out of school children disseminating the consent forms and assist the facilitator to reach the students and out of school children
• Regularly travel to the field to support education, recreational, and PSS activities
• Organize and implement distributions of teaching and learning materials (TLMs)
• Share the weekly report with the education specialist
• Ensure the implementation of agreed plans at the field level to achieve quality results on time
• Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Professional competencies:
• Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional intense situations
• Documented results related to previous responsibilities
• Knowledge of Arabic (English is a plus)
• Computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting
