p>Background: 

Mission East, founded in Denmark in 1991, is an international humanitarian and development organisation undertaking disaster relief and development programmes in Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia.

In Iraq, Mission East provides assistance for both urgent basic needs for those displaced by violence as well as longer-term support for returnees and IDPs in protracted displacement settings. Our current programme includes NFI and shelter, cash transfers, WASH assistance, livelihoods support, protection and psychosocial support activities delivered through multi-purpose community centres.

Key Tasks & responsibilities: 

  • The Trainer will be providing English language training.
  • The trainer will train participants in two to three groups a day, each training will be 2 hours/day.
  • The trainer must ensure clear communication has taken place throughout the training.
  • The trainer must ensure that the participants understand the concepts and are able to apply what they are learning through simulation role plays, group work, discussions and feedback sessions.
  • The training has various learning varication tools, videos and feedback forms that will assist the trainer in assessing whether effective communication has taken place.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualification Required: 

v  At least 3 years English training experience

v  Trainers must possess a certain range of skills in training youth particularly in English training.

v  Trainer must be willing to work in Mosul and Hamdniaya

v  Trainer must be able to structure and communicate ideas, using

v  visual aids. This manual comes with a set of PowerPoint presentations for each topic.

v  The Trainer must be able to adapt these to suit their context and participants.

v  The trainer can also develop his/her own presentations based on the content of the program.

v  Trainer should be able to manage activities, elicit contributions from participants through various means as well as learn while they train. The trainer must prepare group work activities and have all the required equipment before the training commences.

v  A trainer should be a good listener, have the ability to question, clearly explain concepts and give feedback.
