Multi-purpose Cash Enumerators

LOCATION

Ninewa - Sinjar

REPORTING TO

Project Officers

OVERALL PURPOSE

The purpose of the Enumerator is to support the Programmes to collect data from field for surveys, registration of households, assessments, Data Entry, and post distribution monitoring (PDM), etc.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Medair is delivering life-saving emergency services to newly identified IDPs, Returnee and impacted host communities in Ninewa Governorate.

 

 

FUNCTIONAL LINKS

 

Internal:

Cash project Manager, Senior Shelter officer,  Cash officer, MPCA Project Assistant, Drivers, Health, casual workers, project support team, comprising finance, logistics, and HR.

External:

Volunteers, community leaders, conflict affected and host community households, security personnel at check points.

     

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

·         Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence

·         Respect the Medair values at all times, both within and outside of working hours

·         Know, understand, and comply with Medair internal policies and procedures

·         Be prepared to work in all Ninewa Governorates and to relocate at short notice

·         Work closely with all members of the Cash and Shelter team to provide the highest possible quality of Cash and Shelter intervention

·         Treat all beneficiaries and their relatives with respect and dignity

 

Specific Responsibilities

Technical

·         The MPCA enumerator will spend most of their time working in Ninewa governorate in a hands-on technical role.

·         Using Open Data Kit (ODK) application to conduct social-economic vulnerability  assessments, Household surveys, market assessments, registration of beneficiaries, distributions, PDM and baseline survey across the districts of Nainawa Governorate

·         Monitoring the cash distribution point of sales (POS) during cash distributions.

·         Assist with planning and preparation of registration/distribution teams and help with distribution of NFI and shelter assistance in-kind

·         Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools.

·         Ensure collected data is accurately recorded.

·         Identify and report any challenges faced that could affect the quality of the data.

·         Take responsibility for project equipment that you may be entrusted with.

·         Attend team meetings and training sessions as required by Medair

·         Complete and submit Medair internal paperwork as required.

·         Any other reasonable duties in the connection with the project.

Staff Safety and Security

·         Ensure personal understanding of Medair Standard Operating Procedures and Contingency Plans as documented in the Medair Iraq Security Plan.

·         Comply with Medair security procedures at all times, remaining aware of the security situation in office and field locations at all times.

·         Report any security incidents or concerns to Shelter Officer or WASH officer in the field

·         Report any issues regarding workplace practices to Shelter Officer or WASH officer.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:

Vocational qualification
Technical qualification preferably a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (computer science, English department, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering)
 
Work experience
1 year experience in Cash transfers, NFI, Shelter or related fields
Ability to achieve results and work with minimal day to day supervision
Previous experience work  with an NGO
Languages
Knowledge of English (speaking, reading & writing)
Fluent Kurdish (Kurmanji)
Fluent Arabic   
 
IT & Communications
Computer literate with good skills in common Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and ODK / Kobo Collect programs
Other technical packages would be advantageous.

WORK CONDITIONS
For the time being, this position will be based in the Medair Sinuni Office, with frequent field trips and travel within the Ninewa Governorate.
Working hours will be 08:30 to 16:00 with 30 minutes for lunch.
