General Background of the Project/Assignment


Rwanga Foundation is an integrating foundation that supports the humanitarian and development field in the sectors of Education, Youth, Environment, and Vulnerable Groups.

The Multi-Year Resilience Program (MYRP), intends to ensure inclusive quality education and psychosocial support for crisis-affected children, as well as provide access to learning opportunities for refugee and host community children and youth living in urban and camp settings in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

The program provides formal and non-formal education activities (remedial and catch-up classes) for refugee girls, boys, and adolescents who spent prolonged time out of school or are at risk of dropping out, while Rwanga will implement Accelerate Learning Program in Sulaymaniyah. In total, 4 schools will be targeted.


The Project Coordinator will provide technical support within the framework of the MYRP program.


Primary Duties & Requirements


The Project Coordinator, under the direct supervision and direction of the Head of Office in Sulaimani, is responsible for the day-to-day operations in Sulaimani. S/he manages and leads the teams of employees and acts as a bridge between the project teams and the Head of Office Sulaimani and other relevant sections. The Project Coordinator also has the primary responsibility to ensure organizational effectiveness as well as communicating and implementing the project's strategy, goals, and deadlines in addition to coordination with the concerned stakeholders on the ground.


  1. Organizing and facilitating workshops.
  2. Obtaining required staff and supervising them.
  3. Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, or timelines.
  4. Pays frequent visits to project site.
  5. Prepare the documents and monitor payments.
  6. Preparing reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually).
  7. Attend the general meetings and training with donors and partners.
  8. Review the project materials and prepare them for implementation.
  9. Coordinating with relevant government directorates, as necessary for the Project.
  10. Perform any other adhoc duties as and when required by the Director of Programs.


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Skills Requirements


  • Demonstrate good reporting skills;
  • Good experience in facilitating training.
  • Conduct regular and frequent visits to the project location.
  • Adherence to humanitarian principles and code of conduct, in line with Rwanga Foundation principles, values, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate good writing skills and computer literacy.
  • Excellent use of communication skills in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

Reporting & Monitoring


  • Reporting & Monitoring of technical evaluations or work/assignments in the field.
  • Support the monitoring of the workshops and the research of the participants.

Working conditions

  • Required to work sometimes under extremely stressful conditions on the site.
  • Maybe required to travel in places where there are political tensions with minimum security.
