Search for Common Ground and Women Empowerment Organization are excited to announce a new program opportunity for local organizations in Iraq, under the name “Inclusive Peace and Security (IPS)”.
The "Inclusive, Peace and Security" program, is a four-year program that aims to strengthen the meaningful and enduring participation by women and youth in advancing inclusive peace and security. The Program is aligned with Iraq’s Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) National action plan to increase collaboration among Women Rights Organizations (WROs) and Women Lead Organizations (WLOs) across dividing lines. The program will amplify the influence of youth and women peacebuilders in order to:
- Influence in municipal and national peace and reconciliation processes.
- Strengthen inclusive policies and standards on national and subnational levels.
- Promote shifts in social norms around women and youth’s meaningful inclusion in peace and security at all levels. This includes stronger alliances with men and boys.
To qualify for this opportunity, please ensure that your organization meets the following criteria:
Promotes the inclusion of youth and women in programming.
Located in one of the 19 (including Halabja) Iraqi Governorates.
Interested in actively helping to transform and resolve local community tensions.
Able to advocate for the Iraq 1325 National Action Plan.
Available between the months of November 2022 and January 2026 (must be available for multiple meetings per month).
Able to attend all consultation, coordination and training sessions. The training sessions will be held in Erbil and Baghdad.
