Job title: Protection Monitoring Coordinator

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Field trips: Yes, to Tel Azir, Siba and Wardiya.

Requirements for recruitment (please specify desired or obligatory):

·       Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position (obligatory).

·       Minimum 2 years of experience working in humanitarian protection programming (obligatory).

·       Previous working experience with IDPs, refugees and returnees (obligatory).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Kurdish (Kurmanji) and Arabic (obligatory).

·       Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (desired).

 

Responsibilities and Tasks: 

Programming

·       Under the supervision of the Project Manager carry out effective protection monitoring activities (including facilitating FGD, KII and site observations) and contribute to the development of monitoring tools.

·       Responsible for the conduct of community protection monitoring at household level, community-based protection activities and provision of cash for protection activities.

·       Recruit, train and manage 5 Community Protection Volunteers in the conduct of community protection monitoring at the household level in Tel Azir, Siba and Wardiya.

·       Develop and deliver community protection awareness sessions based on community protection issues/concerns determined during protection monitoring.

·       Ensure quality implementation from Case Management, Legal and Community Protection Volunteers in accordance with best practice, humanitarian protection principles and Yazda policies with a focus on ‘do not harm’.

·       Ensure enrolled beneficiaries meet the enrolment criteria of the project.

·       Monitor and report protection concerns, trends for analysis in areas of intervention.

·       Ensure adherence to the cash for protection SOP and best practice including follow up with beneficiaries.

·       Responsible for the overall monitoring collection and reporting of all program protection targets in accordance with donor requirements and the program proposal.

 

Representation:

·       Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, local authorities and other relevant protection stakeholders in Tel Azir, Siba and Wardiya.

·       Represent Yazda at protection cluster and working group meetings.

·       Connect different service providers with the Case Management Team.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the use of Kobo Toolbox and data analysis.
  • Experience in community protection monitoring mechanisms and application.
  • Experience in cash for protection programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of protection concerns and issues impacting communities within the Qahtaniya Sub-District of Sinjar.
  • Strong knowledge of human rights and humanitarian protection principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of two years of working with vulnerable people, mainly IDP’s, returnees and/or refugees.
  • Candidate must be based in Sinjar.
  • Ability to commence on 01 Sep 22.
