ACF intervenes in four main areas: Nutrition, Mental Health & Care Practices; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Food Security and Livelihoods; Advocacy and Raising Awareness. ACF is looking for 1 MEAL Assistant base in Dohuk with regular travel/overnight staying in Sinuni.

Work place:  Duhok, with Regular travel/overnight to Sinuni Sub-Base.

Type of contract: 6 months with possibility to extend

Working Hours: Full Time Contract of minimum 40 hours per week up to a maximum of 48 hours per week

Monthly Gross Salary:    1,910,698 IQD

Benefits: Monthly Transport Allowance + Monthly Medical Allowance (when probation period passed and confirmed on the position) + 1End of Year Bonus.

Purpose of the position: The objective of the position is to provide support on the MEAL aspects of the projects in all three sectors: food security and livelihood (FSL), mental health and care practices (MHCP), Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and mainstreaming gender and protection.

The priority focus of the position is to manage the MEAL activates on the field level and coordinate effectively with project staff in regard to different MEAL concerns. . The position reports directly to MEAL Manager/officer in Erbil, with matrix relations with Field Coordination and PM at base level.

 

Objective/Assignment 1: Field monitoring visit, conduction of survey

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Conduct monitoring and quality assurance field visit
  • Support the improvement of the delivery of qualitative interventions at ground level, following up directly with the field team to ensure that MEAL data is collected regularly
  • Supervise in the conduction of MEAL different data collection exercise.
  • Provide training to the project staff on the different tools.
  • Provide monthly MEAL achievement report.
  • Support Accountability systems in the mission as advised by the MEAL Manager and with collaboration with accountability assistant.
  • Work closely with MEAL officer for adequate MEAL planning activates on the level of field management.
  • Participate effectively in the capitalization process on the field level.

 

Assignment 2: Data management

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Check the quality of data to be entered, report any problems encountered and rectify the problems
  • Support on entering data into the specialised software or sector specific tools (e.g. KoBo) using consistent formatting;
  • Responsible for centralising databases and Activity Info information at base level and reporting to the database officer at Coordination level
  • Support on data analysis producing graphics and summaries
  • Support the Database officer to determine ways to improve the quality of data collection.
  • Support archiving of the files and data at base level. File questionnaires and IT data in an organised fashion that is accessible to all (clear file names, well organised files etc.)
  • Provide initial draft reporting and analysis
  • Prepare TOR for the different data collection exercise implemented in the field

Support the projects on managing data entry if needed.

Qualification/Degree:

University degree in a relevant field

A first professional experience in IT preferred, ideally in an identical position. Experience in research (quantitative and qualitative) will also be considered

 

Professional Experience

A first professional experience in MEAL preferred, ideally in an identical position. Familiarity with WASH, Nutrition, FSL, MHCP projects and Gender mainstreaming would be an asset

Technical/Specialized Skills

Command of IT software packages (MS office): required

Ability to learn to use new software: EXCEL, KOBO,PowerBI

Attention to detail - Rigour - Autonomy - Organisation and Flexibility - Analytical and summarizing skills - Ability to make recommendations and propose solutions

General Skills

 

Attention to detail - Good organizational capacity - Good human relationships, writing skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadline.

Language Skills

Arabic: Mandatory – Fluent spoken & written

Kurdish: Good level is an asset

English: Mandatory -Good level spoken & written

IT Skills

Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel, PPT & Outlook), QGIS, KOBO, ODK

Ability to use EXCEL is mandatory
