Contract period: 6 months with possibility of extension

Salary grade: L2

Working hours: 8 hours in a day from Sunday to Thursday

Job Purpose


As part of the finance team, the Senior Finance Officer is responsible for implementation of efficient, effective and timely finance operations within the Iraq country office to ensure adequate availability of cash and timely payment to suppliers, contractors and employees in line with Yazda and donor policies and procedures. The Senior Financial Officer is responsible to track and ensure accuracy of all advances and to record transactions in QuickBooks.


Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer is expected to fulfil the following duties:

 

-        Support the project managers to provide cash forecasts, to ensure efficient management of cash flows. In addition, ensure that cash forecasts submitted to donors are accurate and based on proper cash flow planning.

-        Ensuring that project funds are correctly managed according to the rules and regulations of donors.

-        Finalize the monthly financial report or other Donor Financial reports.

-        Work with Project Managers, Program Coordinator and Country Directr to respond to the requests of donors.

-        Maintain a payment tracker and share it with the Finance Manager.

-        Review of Payment Requests.

-        Supervise the daily cash management and cash count. 

-        Ensuring costs are cleared internally within a project (correct allocation of costs)

-        Preparing monthly and quarterly financial documents.

-        Preparation of fund requests to donors

 

Requirements:

-        A university degree in business administration, finance, accounting or equivalent qualifications that are commensurate with this position.

-        Minimum of 3 years´ experience as finance/accounts Officer similar in the humanitarian field.

-        Knowledge of donor regulations (in particular US donors) and has experience overseeing reporting/ compliance on grants/contracts D is preferred

-        Good Computer skills (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).

-        Able to communicate verbally and written in English, Arabic and preferably Kurdish.

-        Experience in using QuickBooks will be desirable
