Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee ( is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation, protection, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. Working in coordination with the humanitarian community, the IRC currently addresses the needs of war-affected populations from several operational bases across Iraq. Our activities focus primarily on the supply of vital medications and medical equipment, non-food items, water and sanitation and women and children’s protection, and form part of an over-arching humanitarian response in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and the region that seeks to assist refugees, IDPs and war-affected people survive conflict and displacement. IRC is working in several Iraqi governorates including Ninewa, where it recently expanded to Sinjar.



Position Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Supply Chain Officer, the Admin Officer (AO) is responsible to contribute to the smooth implementation of IRC activities in Sinjar by maintaining IRC facilities and vehicles in optimal conditions. He/she also provides support and assistance to the IRC staff and programs in matters related to logistics. The position is based in Sinjar town, with occasional trips to Mosul, Dohuk and Erbil. The duties of the AO are many as summarized below:


Job Responsibilities

Primary Functions Fleet Management:

  • Ensure that IRC fleet is allocated in a transparent and correct
  • Establish and enforce good fleet management practices, including driver supervision, safe driving standards and dispatch
  • Prepare proper documentation for drivers’ salary payments and contract



  • Ensure necessary preventative maintenance, repair actions for all facilities are identified/resolved, utility bills paid on time and controlling intake/out-take of items from smaller stocks
  • Ensure that basic office services - such as electricity, water, heating and Internet – are provided without interruptions.
  • Ensure proper management and servicing of office generators, including fuel purchase and preparing monthly


Any other responsibility assigned by the SR. SC Officer.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills


  • College degree, preferably in Business Management
  • Two to three years of prior professional experience in a similar post with an
  • Arabic required, advanced English preferable
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion
  • Ability and willingness to work and travel throughout
